Coverage of the New AFN Chief

The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) elected a new Chief at the end of July. Mr. Shawn Atleo, a hereditary chief of Ahousaht First Nation, is the new, and youngest (42), AFN Chief. He identified the importance of treaty rights, continued dialogue about the legacy of the residential schools, and Aboriginal youth and education issues as primary concerns.
